Reporting errors is imperative to system improvement within care and social services. Our client, the Community Care and Services Department in the City of Lund, requested a video that could be used in the improvement process and make the employees better at reporting deviations without feeling like they are informing on themselves or their coworkers.
In our scriptwriting phase we chose to look for a down to earth tone for the language and not to use technical expressions connected with laws and regulations. Terms like management system, users and main process were dismissed.
We chose identification as our most important tool – not primarily with the employees, who are the film’s target audience, but instead with the care recipients, the ones who are directly affected by the quality of the care. This is why we decided to build the video around the character Asta, an elderly lady who is having trouble walking.
”Everyone who has seen it is delighted – it’s both simple and easily accessible, it has just the right amount of information, an appealing design, and is also made with a healthy dose of humour.”
